I'd just like to say that this is a great power profile! I have been using it for a couple weeks now and S1 has been running very smoothly!

one thing: be sure you have adaequate cooling, cpu is gonna get hot if you leave the profile on.

I haven't noticed any difference, other than a dim screen with this vs high performance

really!?
the dim screen is bad. but you should be able to edit that property and update the profile (the important settings in the profile are not user accessible from a gui, only via regedit and console)

the differences are not that obvious. they will appear in a dpc latency test though. also they will be visible in the windows resource monitor (any faster way to get there then form the performance tab in taskmanager?). if you like experimenting you may also want to look at throttlestop.

Good to know.
I wasn't sure if I should change the monitor dimming. I'll make that change & check DPC

Thanks!

I followed the instructions and did not have a new profile added. I still have the existing three - 'balanced', 'power saver', and 'high performance'. I even went into the cmd and 'addconfig.cmd' is not recognized. Any ideas? Thanks..from a noob.

I also had same problem, no new profile added but certainly the cmd was succesfull, unfortunately, S2 would jump crazy with 100% CPU usage all the time with only 2 tracks of a sampler with some few midi notes. Without this it would do 7% CPU!
How do I return to my previous profile?, this is not good for me, Win7 Ultimate 64bit . Thanks for your help.

i have been using it and it does wonders... but i will say that a few times it went to cmd prmpt and installed but did not show in listing of power management. all i did was run the addcfg again, let it install and rebooted. fixed it every time...

i have a game booster program that makes almost the same identical profile. after comparing and working with both... i pretty much have the settings memorized... lol

it has made a vast improvement in my DPC Latency on my desk... i can't wait to setup my laptop to see how it does.

You can also reduce DPC latency with DPC Latency Enhancer freeware tool. It reduced my (Win 8 ) average DPC latency from 120 to 30 microseconds. Of course, you can get different results on your machine. If you would download this tool, first you need fill form on producer website (link above). Unfortunately, freeware version display always splash screen at start.
