Am I the only one that hates the "COMEDY" feel of Presonus' website?

Instead of giving your clients the address to the site why not demo a reference made in Studio One or link them up to this video by Teddy Riley: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=f9z3fduz2Nc

That way you can avoid the unprofessional-ism and naivete of your prospective clients my friend.

The Presonus site (mainly this forum site) is too dark for me and I wish they would change the picture at the top too.
So I basically agree with the OP. I know the picture was a cause of some amusement/posts some time ago.

One potential problem with anything joky is that jokes get tired very quickly. Humour's a very personal thing, too; it's hard to please everyone. It doesn't really worry me, but on the whole I agree with the OP.

This is best way to decide which DAW is right for you. Besides avoiding all that time consuming practice of knowing the capabilities of a DAW first hand, it has the advantage of being google certified - I mean people couldn't say it on the internet if it wasn't true.

Next time your clients ask for Pro Tools, tell them to google it versus Fruity Loops.

Gosh... now our self worth is determined by the look of the website of the product we choose to use?

If so... we're all very "dark and distrubed" people.

Strongly agreed.

Its sad but sometimes you have to give people the "right information".

All they need to know is A) It truly doesn't matter what DAW they record into... since its all the same quality. All that matters is how the user feels working inside it. and B) it has all of the tools (and more) necessary to produce a great sound for them.

I would do whtat CTStump said.

But, if its necessary... to land a client... u better believe id leave it at "yep, i have pro tools... come on in". And then when they come in, play a track to show em what i can do... and then show em i used S1. And then explain it like "listen... the DAW doesnt matter... all that matters is how good i feel when i mix ur shit. i have more fun in S1, and ill do a better job in S1" Do you want my best shit or my worst shit? Yeah? my best shit? well shut the hell up ad lets record" lol

If they still arent sold... just suck it up and record em with protools.... then pull the tracks out and mix everything in S1 behind the scenes. Dont make it more difficult than it needs to be. Make your money!!! You're not going to get thru to some thickheads.

I can understand the OPs perspective.

What is clownish about the main Presonus website is that it STILL uses Flash. Thats so 1990s. HTML5 is the professional standard these days.

And while I'm at it, this forum needs to be modified to allow the posting of iframe-tagged code i.e. for the HTML based Soundcloud widget...

Guys, look. Presonus has stated in other threads that they have less control over their Website than they would like. Rick or Jonathon stated that was partly the reason for the new Studio One website, for which they have total control.

I don't know what the details are. So what if they use flash. Big effing deal. Unlike the OP, I don't try to "WOW" my clients with other people's sites. I can barely get 1 person to post in the forums on my site.

Hmm, maby instead of talking about your DAW give them a listen of your work. Talk is cheap, the ear should tale the tale..... Oh and rember that there are a lot of great recordings done before protools.....

Maybe the web designers could create individual wallpapers and graphic themes for users to install for showing off to their clients, thereby pleasing everyone. Choose your own colors and graphics for the website, and leave the software design to Presonus. You can please some of the people some of the time on some websites, and all the people all the time with individual graphics options.

I happen to live in a very isolated community. The internet is the only way I have to find out about most things. I do not have access to ANY recording programs to examine their capabilities, nor even people to talk with in person about their experiences with them. Glad you found amusement in the only research method available to me. What would you suggest I should have done in my situation?

Hmmmm....so you took what I wrote, quoted it, including the part about it only being a "minor annoyance", then made a completely ludicrous assumption that I neither stated nor implied, just so you could use the little "rollyeyes" emoticon? OK, whatever. I still don't like the Flash for the same reasons that a lot of people don't like Flash banners and I think the zany banner at the top of the forum looks stupid. I actually like the colors. Get over it.
