Been using an "express" since day-one, but had been only using my iPad to connect to VSL.
This thread taught me something. I had no idea that there was mixed support between iPads, iPhones and iPods. If I want to use Q-mix or have others use it, it appears my AirPort Express might not cut it. Good to know.

I will be looking into an "Extreme" very soon.

Ah, you say that now, until you find out all the other cool things you can do with an iPad haha!

I found out the hard way, trying to connect my iPod Touch to the Airport Express (set to 802.11n 5GHz) and would just not see it at all. A little further research and found out that while all recent iOS devices support 802.11n, only the iPads support 5GHz. Which to me, for using Q-Mix, is a right kick in the teeth. Anyone using Line 6 Digital Wireless or in an area overcrowded by 2.4GHz devices my need to look into this. When using the iPad on 2.4GHz, I have experienced an unusable control latency of up to 10 seconds in SL Remote when there have been Line 6 Wireless devices present.

I can report, however, that Q-Mix runs fine on the iPad (albeit looking a bit pixellated and stretched).

Is anyone using the extreme with multiple bands? I'm curious whether there are any issues using two different Wi-Fi networks (even if they are from the same router) to control VSL and the StudioLive. While this may not be completely related, I currently use the Airport Express via an ethernet cable, and I have to turn my mac's wi-fi off for any of the iOS devices to connect. Turn wi-fi on, and all devices lose connection. So naturally, I'm just curious about the reliability of any other setup that uses multiple network devices.

I have an extreme at home, so if no one else has tried this, I'll give it a whirl soon.
