Jeff, can you give us some more details on everything you're working with?

Hello All,

One thing that is very important when running SL Remote is to insure your SL is the most current build. We were having issues and I contacted PreSonus Tech Support. They sent directions for updating the FirmWare and now everything works perfect. As far as the Ad-Hoc network goes we learned that if the Mac and the iPad's are all on the same WiFi Network then the AdHoc was not necessary. We kinda stumbled onto that one. And by the way...we did the newest IOS updates on the iPad (5.1.1) and everything still works perfectly!

I need help. I have tried restoring my iPad twice, redownloading the app several times, and tried as many combinations of turning things on and plugged in as many different ways as I could, and I cannot for the life of me get the App to work on my iPad, or Qmix to work on my iPhone. They both show up in UC and I can choose their permissions, but the app won't ever "load". It just spins and never fully connects i guess. I'm using a MacBook Pro that is on Snow Leapord but up do date on all the software, and the apps are the latest as well as the OS on the iPad and iPhone. What in the world am I doing wrong?!

I've got a StudioLive 16.0.2 with updated firmware connected to a Macbook Pro 15" 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 connect by the firewire 6 to 8 cable that came with the mixer. I have The newest version of UC downloaded right from the Presonus website. I'm running Snow Lepeord right now but am upgrading to Lion today hopefully to see if that helps. I'm trying to connect it to an iPad 2 which i restored twice yesterday trying to get it to work with the above advice to no avail. The UC recognizes my iPad and iPhone when I bring up SL Remote and Qmix, and the iPad and iPhone recognize my studiolive, but when I push connect it spins for 5 min then doesn't connect, or constantly will just keep showing the connect button. I connected everything then turned the board on then my computer thinking that maybe the connection had to be powered on a certain way, but alas, I got the same result no matter what kind of combination I tried. What should I do?

What are you using for a network in this case? Is it ad hoc or are you using a router of some sort?

How much wifi interference is in the area while you're trying to connect?

If you are using a router is it g band, n band, or dual band?

Did you try backing up your iPad and iPhone to iTunes and restoring?

Just trying to get you up and running. Sorry if I was a bit vague earlier.

This seems impossible, but. .... I've had the same very frustrating problems. Tried all the variations with re-installs etc. on a system with win 7 and 16.4.2. To make a very long story short, it worked after shortening a rather long name of the iPad to a length that fit on the permissions screen in total. I know this sounds CRAZY, but it's true. It worked after that. If your iPad name is too long for all of it show up, give it a try! It may save your sanity.

Symantec virus protection caused this problem on my PC--disabled everything started working. Also make sure you are actually connected to your wireless ad hoc device.

Hey Matt, did you ever get this on figured out. I've been having this same problem for about a year now. About a year ago I spent a couple hours on the phone with presonus support and they couldn't figure it out either. Our problem is a little different than others with solutions. I can see the Studiolive in sl remote and qmix but when I click connect the wheel just spins forever and that's pretty much it. I'm sure it had something to do with my mbpro because everybody's iPad and iPhones (about 10 different ones) work when I use another MacBook pro. However the other mbpro isn't mine so I'm still stuck with the problem of my mbpro not allowing slremote or qmix to connect. Last time I spoke with customer support they had me do several kinds of resets on my MacBook but none worked.

I appear to be having the same problem. I finally got Studio Live to show on the connection screen for SL-Remote, but when I press "Connect" the loading icon just spins until either I close the app or it crashes. If anyone needs more information, don't hesitate to message me or e-mail me. I am trying to connect through a school internet, and that may be the problem, but I would still like some outside ( or inside, rather ) information. Thanks!
