Don't get me excited like that. This is the same info we had in the other thread.

Make it idiot proof, and someone will make a better idiot!

Well, that's pretty much the standard feature set of any DAW these days. If you (not "you" you, anybody) just want that, go get Cubase, has it all (that's why I'm still mostly using it). The real question is, HOW is S1 going to implement them and if the devs stick to or even enhance the way they did it with V1, this might be an exciting release. But let me say it again, with all these super powerful DAWs out there that can all do things you couldn't imagine just a few years back, it's all about HOW rather than WHAT.

IMO my 2 cents IMO

Maybe the feature set is similar but the integration will surely be very different.

We probably just need to stop talking about it until they decide to show it. Just sayin;... part of it is speculation and the other part is ... well... something they're obviously not ready to talk about yet.

Totally underwhelmed if this is all that will feature in version 2.melodyne detection, buy melodyne transient detection, there are already plugs that do that. Improve the eorkflow dont just plug ins

I will feel let down if all the new features will be oriented towards musicians. I don't need Melodyne and I don't need transient detection or multi-track comping.
Folder tracks I need, but should have been in S1 already.

I hope there is a lot more when the full announcement is made. Can't wait!

I have no problem staying with S1v1 if v2 doesn't have my feature requests.

I have to agree with Toth, we need more workflow improvements and less plug in bolt ons. Better more detailed midi editing abilities as well ease of use with existing features

Well then if I were you guys stick with Cubase. Neither of you sound like anything would really improve the way you work.

From what I can tell, the proposed feature set would pretty directly address the more prevalent feature requests. There will always be somebody to complain about what a program does or does not have.

Melodyne integration is pretty cool as long as it is integrated in a way that is in keeping with the simplistic mindset of S1's founding.
Being able to view multiple MIDI parts, imho, is huge. This makes editing MIDI so much easier across a whole score.
Transient control and Track Folders were by far the most mentioned feature request, and by golly, it's going in.

Good job Presonus.

For those who are still not happy.....I would say you are not made of the stuff that is willing to wait for proper development; I would stick with what you have.

Well the existing features, are... well... excisting features.
The workflow is already great, folder tracks have been announced and I think that transient detection, elastic audio / warp / flex time, pitch correction etc. are very important additions and the true power will not come from the fact that these feature are now available in S1. The true power will be from the way these things are implemented in S1 and how these are translated into the workflow.

It is true that one might consider these features plug-in bolt ons. But the probably are not going to be in the hands of the S1 devs. Better and more detailed midi editing is also important, yes, but again the way it is integrated in the current excellent workflow is where the true power of S1 lies.
