Channel bleed over to another channel?

I have a strange problem with my 24.4.2 I seem to be getting bleed over from one channel to another.
The bass is on channel 19 and the drums (electric kit)are in channel 20. If I solo the bass I can still hear the drums coming through also.
Drums don't have that same problem with bass bleeding over.
Is this a bug or ???
Anyone else had this issue?

I haven't seen any of that on my SL16. Maybe you have a bit of FX on 20?

Check to see if you have them assigned to the same fx buss. If you mute the fx that will let you know.

What Rick said but if bass is close to drummer and drum are really loud, the bass pickup can pick them up enough as to mock bleedover.--Henry

Great point. It's true that microphonic pickups will actually 'record' other stuff. I can yell into the pickup of my old Dan Electro as an effect.

Is this like "Hey, why am I hearing the drums loud and clear in the bass channel?" or "If I turn the bass channel all the way up when I solo it, I can just barely hear the drums." ?

Even if the bass and drums were recorded direct to mixer inputs with no amplifiers or microphones, there could have been some crosstalk in the analog circuitry when you recorded the tracks.

This is definately why am I hearing the drums loud and clear in the bass channel?
This is live sound, not recorded. Bass is through an amp and then in a Direct Box and into the snake.
They are across the stage from one another and it is an electric drum kit so not much stage noise from them other than a little wedge monitor.
It is low compared to the bass but you can definately hear it.
I have tried moving channel of the snake and all sorts of other stuff. How can the drums be in the bass channel?

When you say 'solo' are you using SIP and listen to main? Or are you monitoring the solo bus? Or have you pulled down all channel faders except the bass? Which buttons are lit in your monitor section?

What are channel 19 and channel 20 assigned to? Main? Subs? Are they linked perhaps?

Have you tried Rick's suggestion muting FXA and FXB?

What are the gain settings on channels 19 and 20? Are you using the mic inputs or the line inputs? It that drum wedge on the same snake as the inputs? How long is that snake?

You're sending the drumkit to a mono channel. Is that from a mono output or is it stereo somehow wired to mono? Is there a DI/ground lift on that?

This is not a question that can realistically be answered here since we really can't tell what you're hearing or just which of many possible things could be causing the problem. You need some on site help.

One thing you can try is re-arranging your inputs so that you're using different channels from the drums and bass than what you're using now. If the leakage goes away, then you can be reasonably sure that the problem lies with the mixer. If it moves along with the change in channel layout then look harder for acoustic leakage. Remember, an instrument pickup, even on a solid body instrument, can act as a microphone.
