Thanks

Two suggestions:

Download the Reverberate trial and compare side by side using the same IRs in Perfect Space. You'll realize that not all convo verbs are made equal.

Buy Valhalla Room (it's $50) before the Dev comes to his senses and quadruples the price. (Valhalla Shimmer, though a bit more esoteric, is a steal too).

The PCM bundle is $1500, I'd recommend The LXP bundle @ $400.

Of course if your looking to get into professional plugins I'd recommend the UAD-2 platform. Best Plate reverb on the market, plus you have the EMT 250 and Lexicon 224 at your disposal.

They are giving away $900 worth of plugins currently with a Quad card.

I've actually really come to like RoomVerb!... If you tweak it, with the exception of maybe one plugin, it really does sound as good as ANY third party algorithmic reverb! I prefer the sound of algorithmic reverb to convo, I think because it sounds like all the reverb on the records I grew up listening to in the 80's and 90's.

I have WizooVerb, and it's great, but it won't work in S1 for some reason? It's not recognized. And...unfortunately, there will NEVER be an update for it since those BASTARDS over at Avid bought up the company years ago. Therefore, I never use Wizoo anymore.

I kind of spent the last few months belaboring this very issue and if I really had to buy a reverb plugin today, it would...without a doubt...be 2C's Breeze!

I always LOVED the sound of Aether, but it's an absolute BEAST to work with! When they came out with Breeze, the simplified version of Aether, I downloaded the demo and was blown away! Times being what they are though, there's other things I feel my production would benefit more drastically from than another reverb, especially when RoomVerb is as good as it is, and you can't beat the price .

Even though I've always been kind of "meh..." about convolution reverb, it is nicer than algorithmic on some things. I don't care for it on vocals. That being said, I'm going to wait and see what new FX Studio One Version Two comes with before I buy any 3rd party convo plugin. I really expect to see a convo in the next iteration of Studio One.
The endless quest for having the latest equipment and software is much more likely to result in wasted time and effort than it is to result in "better" productions.

Where did I say anything about them being the only professional choice?

Well, of course you didn't but re-read the thread and you'll see.
A couple of mentions of Lexicon PCM etc and then your remark...
Communication on the interwebs... Ha ha, what can you do.
