Is there any way to randomize the velocities of selected notes in the Instrument Edit window? ie. assign a range (100-127) and have the velocities be randomized within these values.
How and where do I store and select patch names for an external device? I use a guitar processor with MIDI-switchable presets. How can I select program 34 "Jazzy Twin" within Studio One? Is there a place to type in the patch names with their corresponding program #s for recall?
Thanks for any help.

Unfortunately to recall a patch you have used previously you have to go through the list again. A search feature has been requested for version 2.0 but we have no status on weather it's been added yet.

Thank you for the response. I'm not sure that I was clear on the second issue, however. In my old DAW, ,I could select a MIDI program and it would send a program change to the device. I could control the patches without leaving the DAW screen. Can I simply send a MIDI program change from within Studio One?

Ok, I see what you need. I know that you can do it but I'm not very hip on how to do it. I seem to remember someone figured it out and there was a bit of Math involved so hopefully that person (or someone who knows him) will see this and chime in.

I don't think you can do this in S1. If you can I'd like to know!

Well, as themuzic already said, there's no such exact function, yet. But you could check out the Humanize feature which might be helpful.
The following quote is from the manual:
Strictly quantizing every note so that rhythms are perfectly precise can cause music to sound lifeless and mechanical. The Humanize function alters note start and end times and velocity within a very small threshold, based on rules modeled on common human performance patterns. This provides just enough variation to make a performance sound more like a human played the parts.
To use this function, select any notes and then choose Humanize from the Edit/Musical Functions menu. Note that the exact results cannot be directly controlled. You can also choose to Humanize Less, which alters the notes in a similar fashion as Humanize, but based on rules designed to result in less-humanized performance patterns.
